Stephen Tolkin works in parts

What stood out to me about Husband Father Killer: The Alyssa Pladl Story (2024) was how Stephen Tolkin handled the role. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. Different viewers may value it more, but for me the effect was limited.
