Good instincts from Matthew Silverman, mixed result

Matthew Silverman gives this role a little extra shape without making a big show of it. The performance does the job, but not much more than that. It feels like the role needed another layer that never quite showed up. A few choices felt pushed, and that pulled me out of the scene. It never really locked in for me. I kept waiting for a more specific angle on the character. I can see someone else being kinder to it, but I did not fully get there.
