This role does not fully suit Robert Powell

What stood out to me about Training Day (2001) was how Robert Powell handled the role. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
