Strong, thoughtful work from Vincent Blasco
8.5/10 · Camera
What stood out to me about La Haine (1995) was how Vincent Blasco handled the role. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. It is not the whole reason to watch the film, but it meaningfully improves the experience.
