A useful but uneven turn from Koji Kurata

Looking just at Koji Kurata's work as Director of Photography, there is a clear point of view in the performance. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
