A useful but uneven turn from Talal Derki
4.5/10 · Production
What stood out to me about Hollywoodgate (2024) was how Talal Derki handled the role. I appreciated the intention more than every individual moment. There is some texture here, but I wanted a little more surprise. It supports the film well enough, though it rarely changes the temperature of a scene. A few scenes feel specific and grounded, while others fall back on familiar choices. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
