Jonathan Hobbs Hernández has good moments, though not fully even

What stood out to me about Secret Voices (2021) was how Jonathan Hobbs Hernández handled the role. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
