Aisha Bywaters has good moments, though not fully even
4/10 · Production
What stood out to me about The Last Tree (2019) was how Aisha Bywaters handled the role. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. Different viewers may value it more, but for me the effect was limited.
