Gerli Tooming gives the film real shape
8/10 · Camera
What stood out to me about Melchior the Apothecary (2022) was how Gerli Tooming handled the role. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. It is not the whole reason to watch the film, but it meaningfully improves the experience.
