A useful but uneven turn from Miel Espinoza
4/10 · Acting
What stood out to me about Elise (2019) was how Miel Espinoza handled the role. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. Different viewers may value it more, but for me the effect was limited.
