Navid Negahban feels too thin here

What stood out to me about Words and Pictures (2014) was how Navid Negahban handled the role. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
