Aki Toyosaki is a Japanese voice actress and singer whose work in anime, music, and character performance made her one of the prominent seiyuu of the late 2000s and 2010s. Born on October 28, 1986, in Tokushima, Tokushima Prefecture, she became associated with Music Ray'n and developed parallel careers as a voice performer, solo singer, and member of the vocal group Sphere.
Toyosaki's early voice-acting work included roles in Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho and Shugo Chara!, but her career-defining breakthrough came as Yui Hirasawa in K-On!. The series depended heavily on the warmth and comic looseness of Yui, a guitarist whose charm comes from enthusiasm more than polish, and Toyosaki's performance helped make the character one of the most recognizable figures in modern slice-of-life anime. Her K-On! work also connected directly to music: she performed songs as part of the in-universe band Ho-kago Tea Time, whose recordings became commercially successful beyond the show itself.
Recognition followed quickly. Toyosaki was named Best New Actress at the 4th Seiyu Awards and later received Best Lead Actress and Best Personality honors at the 5th Seiyu Awards. Those awards reflected both the popularity of her characters and the importance of radio, event appearances, and music to a modern voice actor's public identity in Japan.
Beyond K-On!, Toyosaki built a broad anime résumé. Her roles include Su in Shugo Chara!, Kana Nakamachi in Kanamemo, Chiyuri Kurashima in Accel World, Medaka Kurokami in Medaka Box, Kon in Tokyo Ravens, Izana Shinatose in Knights of Sidonia, and numerous later television, film, and game parts. She has often been cast in roles that call for bright comic timing, gentle warmth, or an energetic vocal presence, but her filmography also includes more forceful and dramatic characters.

As a musician, Toyosaki debuted with Sphere alongside other Music Ray'n voice actresses and also released solo singles and albums through Sony Music-related labels. Her singing career is closely tied to anime culture but not limited to it; it includes character songs, group releases, and solo pop material. The combination of acting, singing, radio personality work, and live events places her within the multimedia model of contemporary Japanese voice acting, where a performer may carry a character, a concert audience, and a fan community at the same time.
