Doug Chapman is okay but not always strong

I watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2011) and Doug Chapman was one of the parts I kept noticing. I can understand what the actor wants to do, but not every scene is strong. Some parts are good, but other parts feel normal and not very fresh. I wanted more detail, but it still has some useful emotion. There are good moments, especially when the scene is quiet. Maybe other people will like it more, but this is my feeling.
